Microsoft ups the ante in the gaming arena…

It looks like Microsoft is pretty damn serious about doing battle with Nintendo and Sony.  

Yesterday they announced Project Natal, which looks to remove the controller altogether, instead utilizing motion sensor technology that is potentially a true quantum step forward for videogame controls.  On top of this they’re bringing in on demand gaming, integration with Facebook and Twitter, bringing on more top Japanese game developers, and even experimenting with microtransactions.  

All in all, even if half of it flops, they’re in good position for the rest of ’09 and moving into ’10.  Head on over to Offworld for a complete review here.
